We are seeking a highly motivated Senior IT Engineer to join our IT Engineering team. This role goes beyond technical execution — it requires a strong leader with excellent project management skills, capable of guiding complex initiatives from concept to delivery. You’ll be responsible for driving IT best practices, leading change management processes, and ensuring seamless alignment with business priorities in a fast-paced SaaS security environment.
The ideal candidate is not only technically skilled but also a strategic communicator who can collaborate effectively across teams, engage stakeholders at all levels, and advocate for scalable, secure, and efficient enterprise solutions.
This role reports to the Manager, IT Engineering.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What you can expect:
Lead the planning and implementation of large-scale IT projects with broad impact
Drive IT change management initiatives, aligning teams and processes to support smooth, controlled changes.
Contribute to designing and implementing best practices, policies, and procedures for the IT team
Build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization
Build, test, document, and maintain integrations between business systems, including but not limited to IdP integrations
Identify opportunities for IT automation with the goal of reducing gaps in workflow and operational tasks
Contribute to designing and implementing best practices, policies, and procedures for the IT team
We don’t just think outside the box—we’re always looking for creative ways to tackle challenges. If the solution doesn’t already exist, we’re not afraid to build it ourselves, whether that means spinning up new infrastructure or even advocating for new features within our products.
Be available for on-call rotational work to ensure uninterrupted support and resolve emergencies
Qualifications:
5+ years of technical work experience in an IT role, with 2+ years in an IT engineering or systems administrator role
Adept at managing project timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications while balancing technical priorities with organizational change management
Proven experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM), with a strong focus on change management and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) implementations.
Proven communication skills with the ability to communicate at any tech level
Knowledge of IT service provider best practices (ITIL framework, etc.)
Knowledge of Identity and Access Management and SaaS API integrations best practices, including IdP protocols such as SAML, OpenID Connect, and SCIM
Proficient in problem-solving utilizing scripting in languages such as bash, zsh, and Python
Experience with administration of common enterprise SaaS applications, such as Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, Office 365, and Zoom
Bonus Points:
Experience with Ai tooling and implementation in a IT environment
Experience with 1Password Enterprise and Kolide
Experience implementing infrastructure as code (IaC) and CI workflows in IAM tooling.
USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $117,000 USD and $159,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $105,000 CAD and $143,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
