At data.world, we’re building the world’s most intuitive and intelligent data catalog and governance platform. We’re seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Product Manager to define and deliver valuable enterprise SaaS user experiences for our industry-leading data catalog and governance platform.

In this role, you will drive the execution of our product roadmap for your product areas and partner closely with cross-functional teams—including User Experience & Design, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success—to deliver impactful solutions that help data and analytics professionals achieve their goals.

This is a hands-on, strategic product management role where you’ll focus on product discovery and definition, ensuring adoption and value for data teams, and go-to-market enablement and execution.

A day in the life could involve a customer discovery interview, an engineering demo, and a product design virtual whiteboard session in the morning, followed by an industry analyst meeting, a product marketing launch and enablement meeting, then capped off with some email and Slack catch up and requirements updates before calling it a day.

You’ll be successful in this role if you are adaptable, a constant learner, have deep empathy for customers, have a love for data, are a strong listener and collaborator while also being a natural leader.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Customer-Centric Product Development: Partner with customers, end-users, and internal stakeholders to deeply understand the needs, pain-points, and desires of our users and the goals of our customers. Use your expertise and learnings to evolve our product to meet those needs effectively.
  2. Collaborative Execution: Work closely with Engineering and Design to define, prioritize, and execute on product increments, balancing strategic objectives with day-to-day customer impact.
  3. Go-to-Market Excellence: Coordinate with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams to ensure product enablement and alignment across the customer journey, delivering effective positioning and communication. Create strong written and visual product enablement materials.
  4. Data-Driven Decision Making: Employ a data-informed approach to prioritize features, track product success, and iterate based on feedback and outcomes, ensuring the product remains responsive to market and user trends. Define success metrics and consistently evaluate them to ensure customer needs and business goals are met.
  5. End-to-End Product Ownership: Take full ownership of the product lifecycle, define and align OKRs for your product areas, driving measurable business outcomes and long-term success.
  6. Market and Competitive Intelligence: Provide insights on market trends and segment dynamics to the Leadership team, guiding strategic decision-making and positioning.
  7. Thought Leadership and Evangelism: Represent data.world and your areas of expertise in both internal and external forums, including customer workshops, demos, webinars, industry events, and conferences.

Key success metrics:

  • Drive the Data Marketplace adoption and utilization. Look for sales growth and monetization opportunities in delivering Data Product and Data Marketplace features and capabilities that align with our product strategy.
  • Drive user engagement, increasing monthly active users and user engagement and adoption. Experiment with metrics that reflect the value users derive from the product, signaling that the user experience is intuitive, engaging, and meeting their needs.

We’d Love to See:

  • SaaS Product Management Experience: 5+ years in enterprise software or SaaS, developing and deploying high impact product capabilities in complex technical domains.
  • Domain Expertise: Strong background in data management, data governance, or analytics, with the ability to serve diverse industry verticals. Familiarity or experience with knowledge graphs and/or building AI-enhanced features is a plus.
  • Strong Product Design and UX Sensibility: Experience with end-user facing UX design and complex platform builds.
  • Customer-Centric Discovery and Research Skills: Experience with customer discovery methodologies, customer journey mapping, user interviews, and experimentation in complex data ecosystems.
  • Proven Cross-Functional Partnership: Skilled at collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to translate customer needs into actionable product features. Familiarity and experience supporting and enabling teams in preparing marketing assets, sales demos and training, and understanding enterprise sales cycles.
  • Strategic Influence and Facilitation Skills: Adept at balancing technical, business, and design trade-offs to maximize product impact.
  • Executive-Level Communication: Ability to engage with senior leadership, present complex ideas clearly, and build alignment across stakeholder groups.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Highly accountable, adaptable, and self-driven, with a passion for building and scaling innovative products in a fast-paced environment.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation with bonus program.
  • Up to fully paid health, vision, and dental insurance premiums for you and your entire family.
  • Company-paid life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and legal coverage.
  • Flexible PTO & Dedicated Parental Leave Program.
  • Remote-first, flexible, casual environment.
  • Annual Wellness Reimbursement & New Employee Office Stipend.
  • Generous Stock Option Plan with Refresh Program.
  • Company and Team events for connection and fun.
  • An awesome group of smart coworkers, including a tight-knit team of startup veterans with integrity, passion, and a good sense of humor.
