Your Impact

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our finance team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient collection of outstanding accounts receivable while maintaining positive relationships with customers. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and exceptional attention to detail.

What You'll Do

  • Perform regular reviews of accounts receivable to identify delinquent accounts and determine appropriate actions.
  • Analyze customer payment histories and trends to predict potential payment issues and recommend proactive measures.
  • Develop and implement effective collections strategies to minimize overdue accounts and maximize cash flow.
  • Collaborate with the Collections Manager to establish collection targets and goals.
  • Initiate communication with clients regarding overdue payments through phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and resolving payment disputes in a professional manner.
  • Negotiate and establish suitable payment plans for clients facing financial difficulties, ensuring alignment with company policies and guidelines.
  • Document all communication and payment arrangements accurately in the collections system.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of collection activities, payment history, and correspondence.
  • Generate regular reports on collection efforts, account status, and outstanding balances for management review.
  • Identify accounts that require escalation to higher management or legal teams for further action.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve underlying issues contributing to payment delays.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the collections process by identifying bottlenecks, suggesting enhancements, and implementing best practices.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven work experience as a Accounts Receivable Specialist, or in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Proficiency in using financial software and tools, such as NetSuite, Salesforce and MS Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with customers
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards related to cash application and financial transactions is a plus
