Take Command Health
About Take Command
Take Command is a start-up on a mission to improve the healthcare system, starting with health insurance. Pragmatically speaking, we help employers reimburse employees for individual insurance instead of offering a traditional one-size-fits-all group plan. We believe this model can empower employees (when they have the right support) to be savvy healthcare consumers and have a transformative impact on the entire healthcare system.
Let’s be honest—health insurance is usually a confusing, frustrating, and even emotional experience for people. We want to fix that with a new model, great technology, and a superior user experience. We have made a great start, but we need your help to fully realize our long-term vision.
You will need to be licensed to sell insurance within 60 days of hire (but don’t worry, we will help with that!).
Duties & Responsibilities:
-
Act as the frontline phone support team for employees navigating their amazing new benefits to help them select the best health plan.
-
Research details & costs for employees with high health needs – take those extra steps to ensure they’re on the right plan!
-
Work independently to support our clients as they navigate a new benefits solution by providing a friendly attitude, clear guidance, technical support, and confidence in our ability to serve them well.
-
Continue supporting our clients for the entirety of their enrollment experience.
-
Respond to client emails and correspondence in a clear and professional manner.
-
Create & manage processes for triaging & escalating additional support requests with our customer service team
-
Build confidence in the customer that we can help in a timely and efficient manner, even in our busiest seasons.
-
Gather & organize meaningful client feedback and represent the “voice of the customer” internally, to help us improve the customer experience & scale support operations so we can keep growing.
-
Keep up to date and knowledgeable on internal trainings and new guidelines from insurance carriers and Medicare partners.
-
Self-motivated to meet departmental metrics- we need to be both fast and efficient.
-
Work post enrollment tickets from start to finish.
-
Call insurance companies as an advocate for our clients ensuring they have the coverage they need.
-
Work with admins and other departments within the organization to solve time sensitive issues.
-
Not every conversation with our clients is an easy one, you will need to be able to deliver unwanted news in a professional way.
-
Ability to create PowerPoint presentations and present to large onboarding companies if needed.
-
Ability to assist with creating quality training material and assist with yearly trainings.

We’re looking for a great teammate
Great products are built by great teams. We’re eager to partner with someone that can use their knowledge, skills, and experience to make all of us—and our product—better.
-
Passion for what you do: We know…how exciting can health insurance really be? The reality is our clients love us because we make something that is frustrating, easy and straightforward and, um…kind of fun! We get excited about that! That’s how we made it this far and we enjoy the company of people who care about the problems we’re solving.
-
Attention to detail…: The importance of this for our data-driven product is hard to overstate, and we take pride in improvements large and small. We’re also talking about people’s health, money, and well-being, so we want to be right.
-
…with an eye on the big picture: We want to hear your voice in our business strategy meetings, client engagements, and end-user tests to help us shape the direction and culture of our product and team. You’re a key member of the strategy team.
-
Appreciation of testing, rapid prototypes, and pivots: Software is complicated and we’re tackling complex problems for our users. Also, you’ve probably noticed from the news that the health insurance industry we’re innovating in is pretty fluid right now. We don’t expect everything you do to work perfectly or last forever. Be prepared to iterate on the fly. We’ll look to you to help us strike the right balance between market research, testing, and our desire to launch and experiment with exciting new products and features.
Compensation: $30/hr + 5% bonus + benefits
