Role Summary

Driving the task of baselining the design of 5G deployments (Radio), IP Multimedia system (IMS) network, Messaging solutions such as SMSC, MMSC, and RCS for tier 1 customers. Initiate requirement consolidation and clarification and aid to solution architects. Pave a road plan for development stage cycles in consultation with Business Development units. Chart deployment plan and scheduling a rollout with customer business heads and associates. Align the product requirement to support with industry standards such as 3GPP, ITU, and IETF with the Mavenir proprietary mOne platform. Deployment planning for Cloud based solution of 5G and IP Multimedia Systems (IMS) networks on NFV/ ATCA/ Open stack platform-based solutions. Effective management of issue/customer escalation, bug resolution and RCA in timely manner to avoid significant delays. Impact assessment and closely monitor system health during dry runs and First Office Application (FOA). Proactive identification of the gaps in requirements and on-going deployments. With aid of standard debug tools such as Wireshark and IRIS Session analyzer for in depth packet, protocol, and network level analysis to find degradation such as QoS, latency and protocol errors related to telecom flows. Prepare customer release documentation and periodic updates for each release. Provide MOP and troubleshoot guides related to each product. Position is fixed location based in Richardson, TX office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed up to two (2) days per week.

Job Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field (foreign equivalent acceptable) and 5 years of progressively responsible experience in Telecommunications Engineering or a Master’s in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field (foreign equivalent acceptable) and 2 years of experience in Telecommunications Engineering.

Experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• Messaging/IMS call flows and Protocols – TCP, UDP, SS7, SiGTRAN, MAP, SMPP, SMTP, MMSE, HTTP, DIAMETER, SOAP.
• Extension hands-on experience with Messaging products such as SMSC, MMSC, IPSMGW, RCS, CDB (centralized database), WSG.
• Prior experience in deploying and managing Messaging solutions.
• Experience in troubleshooting site issues using TRLs, CDRs, Wireshark Traces, and other relevant tools;
• Python, Shell or equivalent scripting language to support Call Flow Testing and debugging.
• DB applications such as Mysql, Oracle, MariaDB or CouchBase DB
• Virtual Network Function onboarding in cloud environment.
• Experience in Cloud/Containerized Deployments (Open stack and Kubernetes), ATCA deployments and VMWare tools (ESXi, VMWare Workstation)
