Role Summary

Focus on advanced technology and product development. We will progress this as a start-up company in Mavenir and leverage the whole organization. If you would like to work for a startup with resources, a large existing customer base and world wide reach, this is it.

As an RF developer you will join the RRH and mMIMO development team and contribute to the development of high-end Open RAN 5G and 4G radio products. In this role you will be challenged to develop high performance cost effective small signal RF circuit design. The ability to do high power amplifier design is considered a strong asset for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participation in the design and development of the state-of-the-art 4G/5G radio products Developing the radio RF architecture requirements including cascaded analysis and link budgeting.

  • Participate in product studies, especially in the early phases

  • Develop small signal RF circuit designs and execute design validation testing.

  • Resolve system, performance and calibration issues related to the RF performance

  • Develop power amplifier designs and execute design validation testing.

  • Identify technology gaps required to build future radio products

  • Support devising and perform RF and system level testing as per the 3GPP standard, carriers’ specifications and regulatory requirements

  • Prepare detailed technical documents on various engineering subjects relevant to the projects

  • Work closely with other teams in the global Mavenir R&D community.

Job Requirements

· Deep knowledge and experience in radio development specifically related to RF circuits and power amplifiers.

· Proficiency in RF system architecture and cascaded analysis

· Knowledge of radio principles, signal processing, RF design

· Experienced with simulations tools such as HFSS, ADS, Momentum

· Knowledge of wireless ecosystem, 3GPP, and 5G evolution

· Highly motivated, a self-starter, and a great teammate

· Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to network

· Highly developed problem-solving skills

· Desired 5+ years’ experience in telecommunication industry, in radio design and systems engineering roles

Responsible for employees across multiple development engineering disciplines or individual contributors working across multiple development engineering disciplines. Involved in the strategic design, development and implementation of products to meet market needs. Establishes long-term strategy and plans.

As HW integration Engineer you will join the Radio Unit team and will be responsible for high-end OpenRAN 5G and 4G RRU and mMIMO radio HW Integration, bring up and verification. This position will be based in Richardson, Texas.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Radio unit bring up after individual modules are integrated into one.

  • Drive and perform RF HW bring-up and verification, including integration with radio SW

  • Verify Radio functionalities as per the requirements

  • Provide support to various functions (System verification, Production testing etc) as main point of contact for the operation knowledge of the radio

  • Radio troubleshooting and root cause analysis

  • Transceiver RF performance data analysis

  • Contribute towards overall RF and Mechanical architecture of the Radio unit

  • Ensure production build support for the manufacturing partners for proto types and volume ramp-up

  • Provide guidance and leadership

  • Experience with Mavenir RRU and mMIMO Radio is a plus.

  • Proven track record from RF Circuit and System design for 5G or 4G radios

  • In-depth knowledge on Radio RF Performance parameters

  • Strong RF Circuit troubleshooting skills

  • Understanding of HW/SW interface

  • Knowledge on digital and mechanical design

  • Experience with various PWB materials and large multi-layer layouts

  • Familiarity with electronics, PWB and mechanical components supplier base and supply chain

  • Deep knowledge on cost efficient manufacturing methodologies and technologies

  • Hands-on experience with design tools

  • Excellent inter-personal and leadership skills

  • Curiosity to continuosly learn and innovate

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new technologies and concepts.

  • Qualification:

  • BS Degree or higher in EE
