Role Summary

Plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools.
May use common development methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.

Key Responsibilities

· In Lead Developer / Architect role, create SW architecture specifications and translate L1 feature requirement set to L1 component SW architectures and high level designs

· Lead product algorithm and system architecture design & improvement:

o Analyze the current product algorithms to find areas for improvements.

o Develop algorithms with high performance but with small computational complexity.

o Conduct analytical and numerical analysis in link/system level, with leveraging fundamental knowledge on wireless

o Develop link/system level simulators tailored to individual features to improve

o Lead developing L1 modem algorithms, L2 algorithms and MU-MIMO related algorithms, etc.

· Lead product validation, tests, and field trials:

o Define system, lab and field test cases, and corresponding pass criteria for validating these features of interest

· Conduct root cause analysis for product defects with utilizing product log analyzer, QXDM, QCAT, X-CAP, etc.

Job Requirements

· Over 4-12 years of engineering experience and BE/BTech/ME/MTech from in EE/ECE/CSE (or equivalent) from recognized universities

· Experience in 4G or 5G or massiveMIMO. Experience in Intel FlexRAN is a plus

· Strong experience in specifications, design and implementation of real time signal processing designs in C/C++ on DSP and x86 based processor and platforms

· Strong fundamental technical background & experiences in the following areas:

o 3GPP LTE and NR RAN standards

o Wireless communication theory, information theory, digital signal processing

o OFDM, L1 algorithms (modem algorithms, e.g., demodulator, MIMO receiver, MMSE-IRC, etc.), L2 algorithms (link adaptation, power control, scheduling, etc.)

o RAN baseband system design and implementation of real time signal processing designs in C/C++ in x86 based processor and platforms, time budget, core counting

o 3GPP channel models (36.873, 38.901)

o Massive MIMO algorithms: MIMO precoding, SRS channel estimation, user pairing

o Massive MIMO design: active antenna system, beamforming, UL/DL multi-user MIMO, hybrid beamforming, beam shaping

o Link and system-level simulations

· Experience with Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator and Channel/Fading Emulators.

· Experience in field trials and testing is a good plus

· Programming skills: C/C++, Matlab, Python
